HERMIT CRABBERS!!!
I ransacked my moms shell collection, and these are the shells that I think would be good for crabs.
I still need to test for leaks, and boil, but I was wondering if any of these are ones I should stay away from?

The first picture is the top and te second the openings of the same shells.
Thanks guys!!

The ones on the top and on the right won’t really work. The openings aren’t big enough.

The ones on the left will work, though.

Photo 1: Giroux. Not sure if s/he molted or just has been digger for some time. He’s too small for me to care though… The little guys molt like every few weeks so, not a big deal.

Photo 2: Pedriza. She came up from a molt a little over a week ago and switched shells, then switched back into her crazy, long, original one. I care that she molted because she’s brand new to my crabitat.

All is well in the tank :) A LOT of digging.. eh, kinda annoying, but what can ya do? I love ‘em.

Happy mothers day to all the mothers! (I know it’s technically the day after mothers day, but I haven’t slept yet so it still counts!).

Confirmation that Dwebble molted as well! She lost her orange tint and took on a more tan/purple color scheme with much more purple! Top two are before her molt, bottom two are after :D

Kabuto (top) and Dwebble (bottom) both modeling the same shell.

Confirmation that Shuckle has molted again! This is his second confirmed molt with me. Look how much his eye deformities improved! Way to go little guy!!! <3

Seriously!?

What is it about my tank that every crab I put in it decides to disappear? Lil miss is gone. My son wanted to see her I lifted the coco hut where she was last time I saw her and nope, not there…so I ran my fingers through the sand nada…ran my fingers thru the Eco earth where she was buried earlier…not there….where the hell you at lady?!?

If you just got her there is a chance that she’s hiding somewhere to destress. There is also the possibility that she has dug down somewhere to molt.

I would suggest not digging around to try to find her. Just give her some time. You don’t want to stress her out.
